How Trading Works on Arcus
Arcus runs two engines side by side. Stock Tokens trade spot through a quote network with no Arcus fee. Perpetual futures trade on an order book, with leverage set market by market and margin in USDG.
This hub covers what you can trade, how orders and margin work, and what changes when US exchanges close. Figures are from the Arcus markets API and Arcus documentation, read October 2, 2026. New to Arcus? Start with how to trade on Arcus.

What You Can Trade on Arcus
Stock Tokens are tokenized US stocks and ETFs issued by Bitstamp. They trade spot through the Arcus Spot Router, which collects firm quotes from market makers and on-chain pools and settles the best one in a single transaction. Arcus charges no fee on these trades; your cost is the spread inside the quote. Arcus says it lists over 190 Stock Tokens. The most liquid names quote 24/7 and the rest 24/5, according to the Arcus blog.
Perpetual futures trade on a central limit order book matched off-chain and settled on Robinhood Chain. On October 2, 2026 the API listed 67 markets, 60 of them online: 25 crypto, 34 single stocks, 4 index ETFs and 4 commodity ETFs. Leverage tops out at 50x on SPY. BTC allows 40x; ETH, QQQ, GLD and SLV allow 25x; most single stocks allow 10x. Perps are in beta and need an invite code or a waitlist slot. The markets section shows every listed market with live data.
After the Bell
Equity, index and commodity perps keep trading when US exchanges are closed, under a different rule set. Per Arcus's real-world asset docs, initial margin rises by 50%, price bands limit how far orders can move, the mark price switches to a smoothed average, and funding locks to SOFR plus 0.5% a year. Your free collateral can drop at the close without any trade. The 24/7 stocks guide works through the details.

Orders, Margin and Funding
Arcus supports limit and market orders, with time-in-force options of good-til-time, immediate-or-cancel, fill-or-kill and post-only, plus take-profit and stop-loss orders that you can drag on the chart, and reduce-only. The help center says TWAP, trailing stops and OCO orders are on the roadmap and not live. Positions are net: you cannot hold a long and a short in the same market at once.
Cross margin is the default, so your whole perps balance backs every position. Isolated margin, which caps the collateral at risk on one position, went live on September 9 and 10, 2026, per the Arcus changelog. Sub-accounts exist, up to 10 per wallet, through the API only.
Funding is charged every hour. The base rate is 0.01% per eight hours on crypto and SOFR plus 0.5% a year on real-world asset perps, with a premium on top and a cap of 4% an hour, according to the funding docs. The funding rates tool shows the live figure for each market, and the fee calculator prices a trade at any tier.

What can I trade on Arcus?
Two things. Stock Tokens are tokenized US stocks and ETFs, issued by Bitstamp, that trade spot with no Arcus fee; Arcus says it lists over 190. Perpetual futures cover crypto, single stocks, index ETFs such as SPY and QQQ, and commodity ETFs such as GLD. On October 2, 2026 the Arcus markets API listed 67 perp markets, 60 of them online.
What leverage does Arcus offer?
Arcus advertises up to 50x. In the markets API on October 2, 2026, only SPY allowed 50x. BTC allowed 40x, ETH, QQQ, GLD and SLV 25x, and most single stocks 10x. Limits are set per market and can change.
Can I trade stocks on Arcus when the US market is closed?
Yes, with conditions. The most liquid Stock Tokens quote 24/7 and others 24/5, usually at wider spreads off-hours. Equity perps trade around the clock, but outside regular hours Arcus raises initial margin by 50%, applies price bands and locks funding to a fixed rate.
Which order types does Arcus support?
Limit and market orders, with time-in-force options GTT, IOC, FOK and post-only, plus take-profit, stop-loss and reduce-only orders. Arcus help center says TWAP, trailing stops and OCO orders are not supported yet, and positions are net, with no hedge mode.
Does Arcus support isolated margin?
Yes. Cross margin is the default, and isolated margin went live on September 9 and 10, 2026, according to the Arcus changelog. Some older help center pages still describe isolated margin as planned.
